Panthers may consider unusual move after getting 1st pick

The Carolina Panthers made a big move Friday to take the #1 pick overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. That almost certainly puts them in line to pick their midfielder of choice, unless they do something very unorthodox. That possibility is real, at least according to one report.

According to The Athletic's Joe Person, Panthers GM Scott Fitterer and coach Frank Reich prefer multiple quarterbacks at the top of the draft, and they can trade it off if they find they feel particularly strong about more than one.

However, Person added that many around the league believe the Panthers support Ohio State's CJ Stroud and come forward to pick him.

Trading for option #1 just to trade back in is not a move that makes much sense. While a lot can change in a month and the scouting work is still going on, it's also hard to envision the Panthers performing such a monster act without a clear idea of the end goal. their same.

Some reports indicate that the Panthers may not completely agree on which midfielder they want in the position. They have plenty of time to make that decision, but moving forward and backward is sure to leave the organization looking a bit confused.
